Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society
Kappa Gamma Chapter
The Kappa Gamma chapter of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society (Tri-Beta) was started in 1966 when Georgia College & State University was still a women's college. Tri-Beta is an Honor Society for Biology students.
It seeks to encourage scholarly attainment in this field of learning by reserving its regular membership for those who achieve superior academic records and who indicate special aptitude for and major interest in the life sciences.
It desires to cultivate intellectual interest in the natural sciences and to promote a better appreciation of the value of biological study and thus welcomes into associate membership all those students who are interested in biology. Beta Beta Beta also endeavors to extend the boundaries of humankind's knowledge of nature by encouraging new discoveries through scientific investigation and to this end encourages undergraduate students to begin research work and report their findings in the journal of the society, BIOS.
It emphasizes, therefore, a three-fold program: stimulation of scholarship, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and promotion of biological research" (from the Constitution of the National organization.).
The members of Kappa Gamma chapter participate in a wide-variety of activities: research; sponsoring presentations of students, faculty and outside speakers; undertaking various chapter projects for the university and community; and fund-raising.

Environmental Science Club
The purpose of the club is to educate students, staff and faculty on environmental issues, improve environmental practices on campus and in the community, and sponsor environmental affairs and events.
